AEROZENE 50 (50% HYDRAZINE 50% UDMH) Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Aerozene 50 is a hypergolic propellant mixture consisting of 50% hydrazine and 50% unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH). It is used primarily in spacecraft propulsion systems due to its ability to ignite spontaneously upon contact with an oxidizer, eliminating the need for an ignition system. Aerozene 50 provides reliable performance in various space missions, including satellite maneuvers and deep-space exploration. However, both hydrazine and UDMH are highly toxic and carcinogenic, requiring strict safety measures during handling, storage, and transportation. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent exposure and ensure safe usage of Aerozene 50.
