Ethyl oxalate is a colorless liquid with a mild odor, represented by the chemical formula C6H10O4. It is used as a solvent and intermediate in the synthesis of various chemicals, including pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Ethyl oxalate is relatively non-toxic but can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling, storage, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
