Ammonium fluorosilicate is a white crystalline compound with the chemical formula (NH4)2SiF6. It is used in water fluoridation, as a preservative in the food industry, and in the manufacture of ceramics and glass. Ammonium fluorosilicate is toxic and can cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling, storage, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
