ETHYL SILICATE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Ethyl silicate, also known as tetraethyl orthosilicate, is a colorless liquid with a mild odor, represented by the chemical formula C8H20O4Si. It is used as a binder in coatings, in the production of silica, and as an intermediate in the synthesis of various chemicals. Ethyl silicate is relatively non-toxic but can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling, storage, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
