ZINC NAPHTHENATE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Zinc naphthenate is a chemical compound formed by the reaction of zinc salts with naphthenic acids. It is a yellowish to brown liquid used primarily as a wood preservative and fungicide. Zinc naphthenate penetrates wood, providing protection against decay, rot, and insect damage. It is commonly used in outdoor wooden structures, such as fences, decks, and utility poles, to extend their lifespan and maintain their structural integrity. In addition to its use in wood preservation, zinc naphthenate is also used as a corrosion inhibitor in coatings and as a drier in the production of paints and varnishes.
