Allyl chloride is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor, represented by the chemical formula C3H5Cl. It is used as an intermediate in the production of various chemicals, including epichlorohydrin, glycerol, and allyl compounds. Allyl chloride is also employed in the manufacture of resins, plastics, and adhesives. It is highly flammable and toxic, posing risks of skin, eye, and respiratory irritation upon exposure.
