AMMONIUM POLYSULFIDE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Ammonium polysulfide is a yellow to orange-red liquid with the chemical formula (NH4)2Sx, where x represents the number of sulfur atoms. It is used as a pesticide, fungicide, and soil conditioner in agriculture. Ammonium polysulfide is also employed in the leather industry for dehairing hides and in the textile industry for dyeing. It can release hydrogen sulfide gas, which is highly toxic and flammable, posing significant health and safety risks. Proper handling, storage, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety when working with ammonium polysulfide.
