BARIUM OXIDE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Barium oxide is a white to yellowish solid with the chemical formula BaO. It is used in the manufacture of ceramics, glass, and certain chemicals. Barium oxide is also employed as a desiccant and in the production of barium-based compounds. It is toxic and can cause severe health effects upon ingestion or inhalation. Proper handling, storage, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
