CARBOLIC ACID (PHENOL) Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Carbolic acid, also known as phenol, is a white crystalline solid with the chemical formula C6H5OH. It is used as a disinfectant, in the manufacture of certain chemicals, and as a reagent in laboratory analyses. Carbolic acid is highly toxic and can cause severe skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling, storage, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
