Diethyl carbonate is a colorless liquid with a mild odor, represented by the chemical formula C5H10O3. It is used as a solvent and intermediate in the synthesis of various chemicals. Diethyl carbonate is relatively non-toxic but can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure.
