Erucic acid is a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid with the chemical formula C22H42O2. It is found in various oils, including rapeseed and mustard seed oil. Erucic acid is used in the manufacture of plastics, lubricants, and as a slip agent in food packaging. While it is generally safe, excessive consumption can be harmful.
