Ethylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid, represented by the chemical formula C2H6O2. It is used as an antifreeze, in the manufacture of polyester fibers, and as a coolant in various applications. Ethylene glycol is toxic if ingested and can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling, storage, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
