Ferric nitrate is a pale violet crystalline solid represented by the chemical formula Fe(NO3)3·9H2O. It is used as an oxidizing agent, in the manufacture of certain chemicals, and as a laboratory reagent. Ferric nitrate is highly corrosive and can cause severe skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling, storage, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
