LAURYL ALCOHOL Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Lauryl alcohol is a white, waxy solid or colorless liquid with a faint odor, used in various industrial and consumer applications. It is a fatty alcohol derived from natural oils and is commonly used as an emulsifier, surfactant, and thickener in cosmetics and personal care products. Lauryl alcohol is also employed in the production of detergents, lubricants, and plasticizers. Despite its utility, lauryl alcohol can cause skin and eye irritation if not handled properly. Proper handling, storage, and safety measures, including the use of personal protective equipment, are essential to ensure safe usage. Adequate ventilation and spill containment measures are also necessary to prevent exposure and accidents.
