Lead arsenate is a white to grayish powder with the chemical formula PbHAsO₄, historically used as an insecticide in agriculture. It was employed to control pests on fruit trees, particularly apple orchards. However, due to its high toxicity and environmental persistence, the use of lead arsenate has been largely discontinued. It poses significant health risks, including neurological damage, cancer, and other serious illnesses.
