Linoleic acid is a colorless to pale yellow liquid, a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid commonly found in vegetable oils. It is used in various industrial and consumer applications, including the production of soaps, emulsifiers, and cosmetics. Linoleic acid is also employed in the manufacture of biodegradable lubricants and as a dietary supplement for its health benefits. Despite its utility, linoleic acid can cause skin and eye irritation if not handled properly. Proper handling, storage, and safety measures, including the use of personal protective equipment, are essential to ensure safe usage.
