PARATHION Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Parathion is an organophosphate insecticide with the chemical formula C10H14NO5PS. It is a yellow to brown liquid used to control a wide range of agricultural pests. Parathion is highly toxic to humans and animals, interfering with the nervous system by inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. Due to its toxicity, its use is heavily regulated, and safer alternatives are often preferred. Handling requires strict safety measures, including protective clothing and equipment, to prevent exposure and poisoning. Parathion is subject to environmental regulations to minimize its impact on non-target species and ecosystems.
