Additionally, it finds use in electroplating, as a sequestering agent in textile and dyeing processes, and as a component in the preparation of the Fehling’s solution, which is used to test for the presence of reducing sugars. The compound also plays a role in the preparation of mirrors due to its ability to reduce silver nitrate to metallic silver.
