SELENOUS ACID Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Selenous acid is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula H2SeO3. It is a colorless, crystalline solid or a clear, colorless solution with strong acidic properties. Selenous acid is used in the production of selenium compounds, in the synthesis of organoselenium compounds, and as a reagent in chemical analysis. It is also used in the glass industry to decolorize glass and in the production of red glass. In addition, selenous acid has applications in electroplating and as a catalyst in organic reactions. Due to its toxicity and potential health hazards, handling selenous acid requires appropriate safety precautions, including protective equipment and proper ventilation.
