ZINC SULFIDE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Zinc sulfide is an inorganic compound with the formula ZnS. It is a white to yellowish powder used primarily as a pigment in paints and coatings, providing a bright white color and enhancing the covering power of the paint. Zinc sulfide is also used in the production of phosphorescent and luminescent materials, such as glow-in-the-dark products and X-ray screens. In the electronics industry, it is used as a phosphor in cathode ray tubes and as a semiconductor material. Additionally, zinc sulfide is employed in optical materials, where it is used in lenses and windows for infrared applications.
