AMMONIUM BICARBONATE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Ammonium bicarbonate is a white crystalline compound with the chemical formula NH4HCO3. It is used as a leavening agent in baking, a buffering agent in pharmaceuticals, and in the manufacture of fire-extinguishing compounds. Ammonium bicarbonate decomposes upon heating, releasing ammonia and carbon dioxide. It is relatively non-toxic but can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling and storage are essential to ensure safety.
