AMMONIUM BISULFITE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Ammonium bisulfite is a white crystalline compound with the chemical formula NH4HSO3. It is used as a reducing agent in chemical processes, a preservative in the food industry, and in water treatment to remove chlorine and oxygen. Ammonium bisulfite is relatively non-toxic but can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling and storage are essential to ensure safety.
