Ammonium carbamate is a white crystalline compound with the chemical formula NH4CO2NH2. It is used as a fertilizer, in the manufacture of urea, and in certain chemical processes. Ammonium carbamate can decompose to release ammonia and carbon dioxide. It is relatively non-toxic but can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling and storage are essential to ensure safety.
