Cerous fluoride is a white crystalline compound with the chemical formula CeF3. It is used in various industrial applications, including in the production of certain alloys, as a catalyst, and in the glass and ceramics industries. Cerous fluoride is relatively non-toxic but can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling, storage, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
