Ethyl formate is a colorless liquid with a fruity odor, represented by the chemical formula C3H6O2. It is used as a solvent and in the manufacture of certain chemicals. Ethyl formate is highly flammable and can cause skin and respiratory irritation upon exposure. Proper handling, storage, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to ensure safety.
