HYDROGEN FLUORIDE (ANHYDROUS) Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

Anhydrous hydrogen fluoride is a highly toxic and corrosive liquid or gas with the chemical formula HF. It is used extensively in industrial applications, including glass etching, metal cleaning, and semiconductor manufacturing. Anhydrous HF is also a key component in the production of fluorine-containing compounds and in petroleum refining. Despite its industrial importance, anhydrous HF poses severe health risks, including severe burns, respiratory distress, and systemic toxicity due to its ability to penetrate skin and tissues deeply. Proper handling, storage, and stringent safety protocols are essential to mitigate risks. Immediate medical attention is required in cases of exposure.
