PENTANE OR N-PENTANE Chemical compatibility with O-rings, rubbers, & plastics

N-Pentane is a straight-chain hydrocarbon with the chemical formula C5H12. It is a colorless, volatile liquid used primarily as a blowing agent in the production of polystyrene foam and as a solvent in laboratory and industrial applications. N-Pentane is also employed as a component in gasoline and in the extraction of natural gas. Due to its high flammability and volatility, handling requires strict safety measures to prevent fire hazards and ensure proper ventilation. Exposure to n-pentane can cause respiratory irritation and central nervous system effects.
