Xylol is a colorless, flammable liquid with a sweet odor, primarily used as a solvent in various industries, including printing, rubber, and leather. It is also used in the production of paints, varnishes, and adhesives. In the chemical industry, xylol is a feedstock for the manufacture of terephthalic acid, a precursor to polyester. Due to its volatile nature, xylol must be handled with care to avoid inhalation and skin contact.
